Výzkumný ústav pletařský, a.s. is a modern medium-size company focused on special knitted products including their manufacture and research. It has been in existence for more than 50 years and has the longest tradition in the field of research and manufacture of vascular prostheses of all non-American manufacturers. The systematic development work is evidenced by more than 20 patents granted on various types of vascular prostheses. A number of prostheses used nowadays were patented for the first time by Výzkumný ústav pletařský.
